Who am I?
First and foremost, I love photography. I am an award winning photographer, who started taking pictures professionally in 1993. For the vast majority of my career, I have been a working photojournalist at newspapers across Canada. My past employers include The Calgary Herald (16 years), Vancouver Province, Sterling News Service and the Portage Daily Graphic. Being a full time working photographer has given me access to events too numerous to recount but that means I have the experience to provide you with the images you need and to stand behind my images.
Second, I am a teacher. For the past few years, I have worked at Mount Royal University helping to educate adults in the art of photography in the Faculty of Continuing Education. This endeavor has given me the skills to be able to communicate clearly, share my wealth of knowledge and to help build students photography skills.
As the years have gone on, my career has evolved and my skill set has expanded as the digital age has exploded. With my experience, I can provide timely editing of images, video work on FinalCut Pro X as well as digital content to you while working well within a deadline. I understand the importance of social media in today’s society and embrace it. Additionally, I am versed in WordPress and working with websites within the media.
Finally, I am a wife and mother. Having a family has made be a better photographer as I am caring, attention detailed and highly organized. I regularly volunteer at my kids school. Time with my family has also given me the opportunity to travel and explore the world with my husband and kids. Seeing and photographing the world has become a passion for me.
With my experience, personal and professional, I believe I am well suited to help you or your company by providing you solutions to all your visual needs.
